Vela Studio

Vela Studio is an independent architecture and spatial design practice working across interiors, objects, and temporary spaces. Their work was quiet, tactile, and exact. Their website was none of those things — projects sat inside the same rigid grid, stripped of scale and sequence. The brief was not to add more; it was to give the work enough room to speak.
We treated the site as an exhibition rather than an archive. Each project opens with one decisive image, then unfolds through plans, material studies, short notes, and moments of empty space. Navigation stays almost invisible while the work is moving and returns exactly when it is needed. The result feels considered without ever feeling precious.

The system is built from a quiet typographic frame, an elastic grid, and a small set of interaction rules. Projects can change pace without breaking the whole. On wide screens, scale creates atmosphere. On mobile, the same hierarchy becomes a precise vertical rhythm — no reduced version, no secondary experience.

“A website should not frame the work the same way twice.”
The finished site gives Vela a framework that can grow without becoming repetitive. Every new project enters the same system but keeps its own pace, weight, and atmosphere. What began as a portfolio now works as an introduction to the studio itself — measured, visual, and clear before a conversation even starts.
